Network Systems Engineer
TietoEnator Majiq, a software company located in Redmond, Washington, is seeking to hire a Network Systems Engineer. We have a friendly, casual environment employing 65 employees at this location and about 16,000 worldwide.

Job Responsibilities:
Ensure high availability and performance of server and network environment
Maintain optimal use of server and network computing resources
Install and maintain network devices including hubs, switches, modem pools and gateways
Install server hardware and server-related peripheral devices
Install and maintain server operating systems and application software
Install and use network and server analysis and performance tools to improve overall reliability and throughput
Effectively administer computing environment through such activities as user account management, file/directory permissions, and file/system backup and restoration
Create and maintain operational procedures and systems documentation for processes, networks, systems and software
Participate in the design and review of new systems and application deployments
Evaluate, recommend and implement new products to extend the reliability, responsiveness, and effective use of the data network and server environment
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems
Provide second-tier PC support for employees

Qualifications:
Available to provide 24×7 on-call availability on a rotating basis
Available for infrequent business travel (domestic and international, 0-6 times per year), for up to three weeks at a time
Able to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
Capable of writing documentation
Possess a keen attention to detail
Strong customer service orientation
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Highly self-motivated and directed
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Experience working in a process-oriented, collaborative environment
Language proficiency in Spanish, French and/or Portuguese is a plus

Requirements:
Required Experience:
B.S. degree in IT / CS / EE or equivalent with 3-5 years working experience
Possess basic project management skills
Experience managing Active Directory, including security and scripting
Expert with Windows XP/2003 platforms including detailed understanding of Operating System internals
Experience supporting and troubleshooting DHCP, DNS, WINS and other related infrastructure services/protocols
Experience supporting and troubleshooting HTTP, SMTP, TCP/IP
Experience supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server
Experienced with server builds, rack-mounting configuration and deployment.
Strong knowledge of popular Windows PC software programs, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer, etc.

Preferred Experience:
Experience supporting and troubleshooting Stratus Continuum and ftServer systems running VOS or MS Windows
Microsoft, Cisco, Unix/Linux and other technology certifications desirable
Experience supporting and troubleshooting IP networking including firewalls, IP routing, IPSEC VPNs and Cisco IOS
Experience supporting and troubleshooting some or all of the following: Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, Oracle RDBMS, Solaris, HPUX, Cisco VoIP
Database experience with SQL queries in MSSQL and/or Oracle
